Call Center

The call center is based in Georgia and has been in business coordinating inspection services for home buyers for over 20 years.  The Call-A-Key division is a 8:30 am to dusk operation, 7 days a week including holidays.

When buyers call to see homes after dusk, the call center representative invites the prospect to return during daylight hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to use an agent lockbox on the door as well as Call-A-Key?
There’s no need for an agent lockbox.  Agents and buyers can both gain access using Call-A-Key

What if the lock fails to open?
If you are alerted to any trouble, the call center representative will instruct you in troubleshooting the lock including clearing the system, replacing the batteries, etc.  If the lock continues to fail, a new one will be mailed overnight to you and the packaging can be reused to return the troubled lock.

What do I do if the home that the Call-A-Key lock is on sells?
Before closing, move it to another vacant home and fax the Property Registration form to us.

Is a home with Call-A-Key secure?
It’s as secure as any other lockbox system on homes today.  In some ways, Call-A-Key may be more secure because:

  • It is a keyless system
  • It opens with a one-time use code
  • All visitors are identified and verified before they are given the code.

As with any lockbox system, it is good practice to check your homes frequently to be sure all door remain locked.

If I move the Call-A-Key lock from one home to another, do I need a new door sign?
Yes, because you will need to write in the new property number on the sign.  Call and we will ship you several.

Can workmen or inspectors get into a home using Call-A-Key?
Because of verification difficulties, only prospects and agents can use Call-A-Key to gain entry into a home.  A key is provided with every lock to aid any workers in gaining access to the home.

What if I run out of vacant inventory and want to return the lock?
Return the lock, signs and key to us and we will send you a $50 refund of your license fee.

Can I put a Call-A-Key lock on our sales model?

Installing a Call-A-Key lock on a home which is a decorated model, used as an office or has other contents is not allowed.

What if it’s dark out when a buyer or agent wants to enter the home?
Since many of our locks are on homes without electricity, the call center does not allow access to properties after dusk.  Given the time of year and the weather, dusk can vary greatly.  We encourage late visitors to return the next day during daylight hours.

What does Call-A-Key cost to license and where do I send a check?
See Call-A-Key fee section
